First Aid & CPR Bolivia

Being a substitute (foster) family in Bolivia means temporarily taking in a child or teenager who cannot remain with their family of origin, assuming their care, protection and support. Guardianship is granted after assessment by the competent authority; being ready to respond to an emergency — with first aid and CPR — is part of responsible care.

De eis inzake eerste hulp

In Bolivia, the substitute family and guardianship are regulated by the Código Niña, Niño y Adolescente (Ley N.° 548). The process is preceded by a report from the Defensoría de la Niñez y Adolescencia and assessment by the Juez Público de la Niñez y Adolescencia. The law does not expressly require a first-aid certificate, but holding current first-aid and CPR training is commonly expected for the safe daily care of a minor.

Follow-up is handled by the Defensoría de la Niñez y Adolescencia and the bodies of the national protection system. A first-aid and CPR certificate is in addition to — not a replacement for — the suitability assessment and the caregiving duties the substitute family takes on, and it should be kept current.

Deze aanbevelingen dienen als referentie voor gezondheidsorganisaties, instellingen en beroepsorden over de hele wereld – en worden bijgewerkt naarmate het wetenschappelijke en klinische bewijs evolueert.
